Wi series feature a Built In Pocket Wizard™ ReceiverBuilt In Pocket Wizard™ Receiver: 32-channel digital radio circuitry allows you to eliminate sync cords and wirelessly trigger single or multiple power packs with high consistency, sensitivity and broad range. Use Pocket Wizard Multi Max, Pocket Wizard Plus, or SekonicTM Meter with built-in transmitter. May also be triggered with other flash or infrared sources. Power Control Switch: Two full/half/quarter power switches to provide seven basic power settings. Arc proof. Combined/Ratio Output Switch: One switch lets you toggle between Symmetrical and Asymmetrical routing of the “A” and “B” flash head outlet banks. LED indicates combined mode. Arc proof. Variator Control: Two f/stop variator allows you to fine-tune your basic power settings in 1/3 stop increments. When used with the power control switches, they provide up to 26 unique settings with a single flash head. All Wi packs have 6 f/stop range. Modeling Light Control: Dual proportional dimmer slide switch control includes FULL OFF so that the cooling fan may continue to run. Flash Head Outlets: Arc protected so you can plug and unplug flash head cables without shutting down the power pack. Ready Light Test Switch: This low profile button serves as a flash test switch and signals 100% flash readiness. Audible Ready Indicator: 100% recycle indicator with its own ON/OFF switch for applications that demand it. Sync Input Socket: ISO approved low voltage sync circuit. Included 3-blade cord is safe to use with all sophisticated electronic and digital cameras. It also prevents the unit from accidentally being plugged into a 110v socket. Socket also accepts standard two blade cords.

Everything about this lighting is full on and strong except for the use of reflectors and grids to mellow the look of the 2040 open head.
This image was achieved by using two 2040 heads and one M1000 pack; one main light for the face and body; one 2040 with a 40 degree grid spot and one 2040 head with a 30 degree grid spot used as a rim light off to the left.
The rest is fill light created by large reflectors on the models left and right and directly over head.”
